My Favorite Photographer

Daniel Doiy 1938 to 2010 - Images by Jason Doiy

Daniel G. Doiy passed away on Oct. 13 after a long battle with cancer. A life-long political and animal rights activist, he was born in 1938 in Akron, Ohio.

He served in the Navy aboard the USS Intrepid before moving west during the heyday of the 1960’s; finally settling down to work 26 years at Cal State Hayward as a systems engineer.

He is survived by his daughter Danielle Addleman (Aaron); sons Jason Doiy (Caroline) and Alex Craig; grandson Micah Addleman.

My dad was my biggest inspiration for me becoming a photographer.

Cantil-Sakauye named to replace Ronald George

If confirmed Tani Gorre Cantil-Sakauye, 50, would be the first Asian American chief justice and give the court a female majority for the first time in history.

"She is a living example of the American Dream and when she is confirmed by the voters in November, Judge Cantil-Sakauye will become California's first Filipina chief justice; adding to our High Court's already rich diversity," Schwarzenegger said in a news release this morning.
